Sometime in high school (preferably before you take the PSAT, but DEFINITELY before you apply to colleges) open an email address *specifically* for college stuff.
Use this email for "everything college" - when scheduling campus visits, taking SAT/ACTs, opening your Common App account, applying direct to schools on portals, or when conversing with college admissions officers. Having one place to go that is JUST COLLEGE is tremendously helpful to keep focused and organized!
Be sure the email is PROFESSIONAL (pandalover@email.com and/or hotvolleyballgirl@email.com are NOT suggested). And consider allowing your parent/guardian access to this account - they can help you remember to check it, alert you to important emails, etc.
Lastly, if you're planning on working with me at some point, a Gmail account is helpful!
