I get asked all the time why Florida’s public university admissions process is so competitive. Frankly, it’s because our public uni’s are excellent institutions at an incredibly low price (whether in state or out of state). And while I’m usually not a big fan of the “rankings” systems, in this case, the Florida State University System has earned the celebration of its SEVENTH year at the top of the list.
This year the State achieved: - 12 percent five-year increase in graduation rates - 49 percent year-over-year drop in the cost-to-the-student for a bachelor’s degree. - 75% of resident undergrads had no loans during the 2020-21 academic year, up from 69% the previous year.
Congratulations to our State University System and its students. (And buckle up, parents - it’s going to be another exciting year of highly-competitive applications from all over the globe. )
