About Michelle

Michelle Duncan is the founder and principal consultant of Reimagined Admissions.  For over a decade, Michelle has worked as a professional educational advocate and planning consultant for gifted and neurodiverse students. She is a seasoned educational advisor, providing valuable guidance to students for important decisions such as strategic course selection, extracurricular activities, standardized test preparation plans, and self-directed passion projects or summer programs that both feed a student’s curiosity while enriching the student’s educational experience.

Michelle spent her early professional career as a marketing communications professional in Austin, TX, and Atlanta, GA, and brings a strategic skillset that adds a valuable dimension to her counseling approach. With direct experience building well-known brands such as Dell Computers, Electronic Arts, Western Union, TeleCheck, Omni Hotels, and Shiner Bock Beer, Michelle helps students reflect on their own experiences to discover their authentic voice and personal "brand". She has coached senior executives on press and media interview techniques and transfers those same skills to help students feel confident in admissions or alumni interviews.

Michelle holds a master’s degree from Moody College of Communication at the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire. She is a graduate of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA) Special Education Advocacy Training (SEAT) program, the T.W.I.G.S. Advocacy Program,  IECA’s Summer Training Institute in Educational Consulting, is a WOW Writing Certified Essay Coach, and a graduate of University of California Los Angeles (UCLA)'s College Counseling Certificate program with distinction.

Michelle is a member of the Southern Association for College Admissions Counseling (SACAC), an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), and a member of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA).

Michelle and her husband currently reside in Northwest Florida with their two children. Their son is at university studying aerospace engineering, while their youngest daughter is a high school student, a lover of all things animals, and hopes to study veterinary sciences.

Their family includes two loveable, goofy dogs - Ace and Snickers -

who serve as a very loud but harmless “welcome wagon” for

home office visitors, “therapy pups” for stressed-out high schoolers,

and often make guest appearances during Zoom conferences.

When she is not reading essays, visiting colleges, meeting with

students, or grabbing yet another cup of coffee, Michelle enjoys

reading, sewing, volunteering, attending theater and arts

performances, and spending time with family.
