A survey by the National Association of College Admission Counselors (NACAC) found that despite spending an impressive 30% of their time counseling students in higher ed options, students receive an average of 38 minutes of one-on-one counseling during their four years of high school.

With a more complex system of admissions and limited one-on-one personal guidance, students and families are seeking private college admissions counseling at an astounding rate. In 2009, 26% of high-performing students admitted to working with an independent college counselor. Today, that number has skyrocketed.
